Some County Buildings Closed After Fire and Power Outage
Phoenix - Several County buildings are closed today after a fire led to power outages and road closures in downtown Phoenix. Buildings closed to the public include the county administration building at 301 West Jefferson Street; the Downtown Justice Center; and Superior Court.
Superior Court advises those with cases pending at the downtown Superior Court to contact their attorneys for any rescheduling information. Prospective jurors heading to the downtown Superior Court will be contacted by the Jury Office. They will not have to come downtown.
According to APS, the fire started on Sunday night while APS workers were performing maintenance in downtown Phoenix. APS does not currently have an estimate of when power will be restored. Maricopa County will continue to monitor the situation to determine whether buildings can safely reopen for business tomorrow. Follow Maricopa County on Twitter for additional updates.
