[ARCHIVED] Emergency Management Integrates Maricopa Association of Governments’ Heat Relief Map into Mobile App

Bright, hot sun peeking through clouds

Expanded resources to beat the heat this summer.

The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) coordinates interactive mapping for the Heat Relief Network, a collaboration of municipalities, nonprofit organizations, faith-based communities, and businesses that accept water donations or provide hydration and refuge from heat for people in need. The goal of the Heat Relief Network is to prevent heat-related deaths and illnesses.

The Maricopa County Department of Emergency Management (MCDEM) has collaborated with MAG to integrate the Heat Relief Regional Network Map into the Ready Maricopa Community Preparedness App. Along with existing services such as police and fire stations, you can also locate hydration stations and heat refuge locations right from your mobile phone. The services feature lists locations, hours, and contacts. It also links to your phone’s default mapping system to give you directions to your destination.
