The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) received three awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for its role in developing new applications aimed at creating efficiencies and process improvements for the county. "We are extremely proud of our team members who have worked hard to develop these applications," said MCDOT Director Jennifer Toth. "Process improvement is a continuous cycle. Technology is creating new ways to make MCDOT more efficient." The NACo Awards were presented during a ceremony in Phoenix this week. The MCDOT applications recognized are: Enterprise Performance Management Planning Application (PMP): The PMP is a human resources tool used to track employee performance. The tool allows managers and employees to manage up to six goals and ten competencies for each employee. It automated a time-intensive process resulting in savings for the county. Roadway Maintenance Billing Activity Application (RMBA): The RMBA simplifies and standardizes the approval process for roadway maintenance billing. This helped to improve the turnaround time and reduced the number of errors. Work Assignment Manager Interface (WAMI): The WAMI streamlines the process of creating work assignments with approved contractors. It allows project managers and staff to be more responsive to the ongoing maintenance needs of the county roadways. The National Association of Counties (NACo) unites America’s 3,069 county governments. Founded in 1935, NACo brings county officials together to advocate with a collective voice on national policy, exchange ideas and build new leadership skills, pursue transformational county solutions, enrich the public’s understanding of county government, and exercise exemplary leadership in public service. The National Association of Counties (NACo) has recognized Maricopa County with 57 National Achievement Awards for innovation in county government.
