[ARCHIVED] How to Get a Maricopa County Permit: Changes as of 3/24/2020

Maricopa County permitting departments are adjusting operations due to COVID-19.  The following summarizes the submittal process for each department as of March 24, 2020.

Air Quality

· Permits for dust, subcontractor registration, and annual fees can be submitted and paid for online.

· General, non-title V, title V and burn permits, and vapor decal applications may be submitted via email to AQpermits@maricopa.gov. You will be contacted for payment once your application is received.

· For paper permit applications, a drop box is located outside the lobby at 501 N. 44th Street, Suite 200. · For questions or assistance contact 602-506-6010 or email AQpermits@maricopa.gov

Environmental Services

· Permits can be submitted electronically by following the steps outlined on our Permits, Forms, and Applications page.

· Permits can be submitted via a drop-box, which is located outside the lobby at 501 N. 44th Street, Suite 200. 

· All permits will be issued electronically. Payment can be made online or by calling the cashier at 602-372-0251.

· Inspections will continue. Inspectors will follow social distancing requirements.

Flood Control District (FCD)

· Floodplain Use Permits: http://apps.fcd.maricopa.gov/ROWPermits/signIn/signIn/ 

· Sand and Gravel Permits: http://apps.fcd.maricopa.gov/ROWPermits/signIn/signIn/

Department of Transportation (MCDOT)

· To pay fees or have a permit issued, please call 602-506-8600 for directions. Credit card payments will be accepted over the phone.

· Couriers and customers who would like to drop off materials (plans, applications...) should send an email with their digital files to MCDOTPermits@Maricopa.gov for processing.

· Invoices may be received electronically. Please email your invoices to MCDOTFinance@maricopa.gov

Planning and Development

· Permits can be submitted via a drop-box, which is located outside the lobby at 501 N. 44th Street, Suite 200. 

· Permits can be submitted digitally through the Online Customer Portal.

· Emergency electrical permits and FastTrack (1-day turnaround) eligible permits should be submitted via email to PNDFastTrack@Maricopa.gov. A list of permits that are eligible for FastTrack can be found here.

· Limited appointments will be available for permitting issues that cannot be resolved via telephone or online. 

· All permits will be issued electronically. Payment can be made online or by calling the cashier at 602-372-0251.

· Building and drainage inspections will continue. Inspectors will follow social distancing requirements.
