Second Dose Scheduling Update

If you received your first vaccine dose at the Maricopa Chandler or Maricopa Goodyear POD sites and need to schedule your second dose, you will be emailed an invitation to schedule an appointment at a Dose-2 event when appointments for February have been opened as available. Invitations will be sent out in order of priority (by date of first vaccine.) New locations and appointments will continue to be made available for second doses over the next several weeks, subject to availability of vaccine.

Pharmacy Appointments  for 75 Years and Older ONLY

If you are Phase 1B prioritized, 75+ years of age, we are in the process of creating new February events and opportunities for you to schedule an appointment to be vaccinated.
It is recommended seniors 75+ first check availability here prior to POD locations. You must have an appointment; no walk-ins.

Appointments at Point of Dispensing (POD) Locations
These will be open to all Phase 1A and Phase 1B prioritized groups. You must schedule your appointment using the registration systems provided below. Scheduling availability varies by day and locations. No walk-ins to Point of Dispensing (POD) site locations will be accepted. You must have an appointment.

New locations and appointments will continue to be made available for those in prioritized Phase 1B groups over the next several weeks, subject to availability of vaccine.  They will be posted in the vaccine locations listings below.

Prepare for Your Visit

  •  Please have your appointment confirmation email, QR code, etc.  to show when you arrive.
  • You will need to provide a form of ID verifying your age or your employment status, such as a work ID or paystub.

Please see  COVID-19 Vaccine FAQs for more detailed information.

Appointments are open to the following prioritized groups:

  • Adults age 75 and older
  • K-12 school staff and childcare workers
  • Law enforcement/protective services*
  • Phase 1A populations

*This includes all sworn officers and government-employed security officers.

NOTE: Maricopa County will not be expanding its current prioritization of Phase 1B to include people age 65-74, following recent announcement by AZDHS. Once more vaccine becomes available and we are further along in our current 1B prioritization, we will expand to additional groups. Vaccination of people 65-74 is only available at state operated POD locations (State Farm and Phoenix Municipal Stadium). Check eligibility and scheduling availability at AZDHS COVID-19 Vaccine Finder.

Maricopa County Point of Dispensing (POD) Vaccination Sites

Due to the initial limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine, Maricopa County is partnering with local healthcare systems and municipalities to operate five drive-through Point of Dispensing (POD) sites across the county. This allows us to vaccinate as many people as possible in a quick, safe and efficient manner. All Maricopa County regionally operated POD sites are operated by certified medical staff and volunteers.

Scheduling Your Appointment

Appointment availability at Maricopa County POD sites will be noted in location listings below. Appointments are likely to be very limited to none at times due to capacity. Our regional POD sites have been vaccinating since Dec. 17th when opened to Phase 1A healthcare workers, and many of these individuals are now returning for second dose appts.

We are actively working to add new POD location sites in Maricopa County. Additionally, we are working with schools and school districts across the county to create vaccination events specifically for K-12 school staff and childcare workers. Similar discussions are also underway with multiple jurisdictions to offer special vaccination events to law enforcement populations. Pharmacies to vaccinate adults 75 years and older also are coming on board. More information about vaccination events for Phase 1B priority groups will continue to be added to this page as it becomes available.

Please full list of Eligibility & Scheduling FAQs for additional help. Appointments are required. No walk-ins will be accepted at any POD site. This information will be updated as it becomes available.

POD sites listed below use Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

Prepare for Your Visit

Please bring the following items when you go to your appointment:

  • the appointment confirmation email, QR code or other verification
  • a form of ID verifying your age or your employment status, such as a work ID or paystub.
  • your insurance card, for provider billing only; there is no cost for vaccination

After Your Visit: Scheduling for Second Doses

After receiving your first shot, you will receive a paper immunization record that will be completed at the time of vaccination. It will include the vaccine you received, date and provider, and when your next shot is needed (e.g., approx. 3 to 4 weeks after your first dose). Because different COVID-19 vaccine products will not be interchangeable, your second dose must be from the same manufacturer as your first dose.  With both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines being used in the community, it is important you know what vaccine you're getting for your first dose so that when it's time to schedule your second shot, it's from a provider offering the same vaccine. Please be sure to bring this vaccination card with you when you get your second shot.

Please see our COVID-19 Vaccine FAQs for other information about eligibility, scheduling (including second doses), vaccine safety, and other topics.
