Alecia Jackson, Assistant Director of Early Education
Alecia Jackson, Assistant Director of the Early Education Division, holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and has a long and varied career spanning more than 18 years working with programs and agencies serving children with special needs and families experiencing poverty and other risk factors. Alecia is currently serving as the Arizona Head Start (HS) Association’s Vice President. She oversees more than 14 million dollars of Federal funds to ensure that over 1,000 children ages Birth to Five are provided the best opportunity for school success. Ms. Jackson has been a Grantee Performance Support Specialist and Early Childhood Specialist in the training and technical assistance network through the Office of Head Start. Alecia joined the Maricopa County Human Services Department HS program in 2011 as the Child Development and Health Manager. Since assuming the Assistant Director position in 2014, Alecia has: led the program’s planning and implementation for the restoration of sequestered funds; enhanced electronic record keeping system; expanded inclusion services for children with disabilities; and successfully applied for and received an EHS-Child Care Partnership Grant of 2.5 million dollars.
