Non-Title V Permit Information

The Air Quality Department's Non-Title V (NTV) Permitting program issues permits for sources such as gasoline plants, heating units, internal combustion engines, and surface coating operations that are below the Title V emission thresholds and that are not considered exempt or insignificant under Rule 200. The permits include conditions that regulate source-specific emission limits, monitoring, operational requirements, record keeping, and reporting.

A source may require Best Available Control Technology (BACT) analysis if it is new or requires modification to existing sources.

Synthetic Minor

The department's NTV permitting program issues Synthetic Minor permits for sources with actual emissions of at least 50 percent of the major source emissions thresholds. The permits include conditions that regulate source specific emission limits, monitoring, operational requirements, record keeping and reporting.

General Permits

Some sources may qualify for a general permit rather than a NTV permit. To find out if your operation qualifies for a general permit, visit the General Permit Information page or call 602-506-6010.
