Permit Engineering

The Air Quality Permit Engineering Division is responsible for reviewing applications for Title V, Non-Title V and General permits. What is an Air Quality Permit?

 A permit is a written authorization to build, install and/or operate equipment that emits, or controls, the emissions of air contaminants such as:

 

• Carbon Monoxide (CO)
• Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs)
• Lead (Pb)
• Nitrogen Oxides (NO_x)
• Particulate Matter (PM₁₀ or PM_2.5)
• Sulfur Oxides (SO_x)
• Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
