Federal
The White House
Local governments play a critical role in the American federal system of government. As the level of government closest to the people, they are responsible for the delivery of the majority of government services. Broad policy decisions made by the federal executive branch directly affect the manner in which local governments function. Government Relations assists County departments in articulating the impacts of policy decisions to federal agencies while looking for mutually beneficial solutions to regulatory concerns.
Congress
In the same way broad policy decisions made by the federal executive branch affect local governments, broad funding decisions made by Congress affect the manner in which local governments function. Government Relations helps the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors articulate positions, concerns, and requests on issues that affect local government and the residents Maricopa County serves.
National Association of Counties (NACo)
The National Association of Counties (NACo) is a national organization that represents county governments before the President’s administration and Congress. Government Relations works with NACo to address county concerns across the wide spectrum of issues at the federal level.
